As of right now, I am only about halfway done. You may notice that I completely changed my idea for my passion project, so it is a oil pastel drawing rather than a painting. I just recently decided I was not very passionate about painting, and found that, through our class activities, that I really am in love with chalk and oil pastel.

My new plan for this project is to make a couple of artworks that correspond or work well with each other and make some sort of oil pastel collection of artworks. My main focus of the project is to develop my skills with pastel more.

I feel that my blending skills have improved and that my ability to keep my work precise and clean has gone well. I really am trying to make sure that my lines are very accurate and exact, and that has taken multiple hours to do. I really wanted a specific look, and I think I am achieving this right now. I have not decided what I would call this collection, but I know I want to do the next or next two oil pastel drawings of landscapes as well, so I may name it later once I have all of my details.

Honestly, I have been struggling with my time management. Time is slipping away so easily and I am spending too much time on the details, and I fear I am not as far along as I hoped I would be. I try very hard to blend all of my colors, but it is just taking me too long. Also, it has taken me so long to find a subject and material that I am passionate about to do this project on. I am cutting my time close.

My final steps to conclude this project is to currently finish the tree on this artwork, then create one or two more detailed artworks. I must spray them with a coating and then name then and probably put them on a nice sheet of paper side by side. This may take me awhile, but I'm sure considering with all the breaks coming up that I will be able to work on a lot. I hope this piece does not take me too much longer to do. I need to get a move on!
