I created this artwork using the app Procreate on my iPad - I highly recommend it. There are a variety of brushes and colors to choose from, and I tend to use it for all of my digital drawings.
Like a few of my more recent drawings, this process started by creating an outline of the most basic shapes of the subject in a vivid color that would stand out. I like this technique because I do not do hyperrealistic drawings, but I also just like the style and the sort of emphasis and neatness it puts on the subject. The next step was to create another layer/layers beneath the outline where I could do a majority of the coloring work, which just included taking different hues and shades of colors to be able to portray shadows from a light source, as well as natural pigmentation of the skin. It was also fun to play around with her earrings to try and use so many different colors to protray her gold jewelry.
Lastly, for the background, I utilized just a brush I found on Procreate. I liked and chose this brush in particular because I liked the organic shapes, mimicking leaves in the wind, or just overall giving her a very natural feel.
I found my reference photo on Unsplash (just look it up on Google), and I highly recommend that as well if you are needing an image to refer to for your drawings.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed!
