I am very happy to be done with my Passion Project for Drawing Studio! It was so exciting to see how my project evolved over time and what I could come up with. I worked with a very new material and am so proud that I got to prove to myself how versatile and resourceful I am with art materials. This was such a fun experience!

I am extremely happy with the way this project turned out! I was not very happy with my previous plans and work, but I persisted and pushed through my doubt to create a complete and clean artwork. I was not so sure about my abilities and what I could do with chalk and oil pastels in the beginning, all I knew is that I definitely wanted to try my hand with pastels and try to create something I would be proud of. I have to say that this experience and project in my opinion was a success!

I am very proud of my blending abilities in all my artworks with both oil and chalk pastels. I do wish though in blending with oil pastels that the colors were more vivid. I also wish that when I sprayed my works with sealing that it turned out brighter - I probably should have tried to add much more layers of colors beforehand so that when I sprayed it, it would not have turned out so dark and hard to see. Nonetheless, I am still proud of my craftsmanship and proving to myself that I can do so much more than I thought I could.

My overall experience with making the work started out pretty negative. I did not like my original idea very much and I did not like painting very much. I made a couple bad decisions in the beginning and that made me put the project off until November because I was pretty discouraged. But more towards the end, when I finally started working on the project and found an art material and idea I really liked, my experience was very positive. This nightmarish beginning ended in some amazing self discovery. I am very proud of the work I put out and my ideas.

Documenting the process was also quite interesting. Even now I can go back and see how I evolved as an artist. I discovered what I loved in this project. I discovered even more of my abilities in this project. Documenting the process helped me see my choices in action, and I am so thankful that I got to have this experience. I love art. And this project proved that to me even more than I thought I already knew.
